The basics
What does 100Alarms do?
It wakes you up (alarms), nudges you with messages (reminders), and plays calm sounds to help you sleep (sleep sounds). It works on iPhone and Android.
Do I need the internet?
No. Your alarms and reminders run right on your phone, so they work even with no signal. You'll only need the internet for your automatic iCloud backup to sync.
It's asking for permissions when I open it. Is that okay?
Totally normal — just tap Allow so your alarms and reminders can reach you. You'll only need to do it once.
Why does it say my iPhone is too old?
You'll need iOS 26.1 or newer. Update at Settings → General → Software Update, and you'll be good to go.
Alarms
How do I make an alarm for just one day?
Tap the + button, choose Alarm, then pick a day — Today is already selected by default, or you can choose any single day — and follow the steps.
How do I make a recurring or repeating alarm?
Tap the + button, choose Alarm, then choose Recurring, pick your days, and follow the steps.
Why does my alarm ring so many times?
That's on purpose! 100Alarms keeps ringing at your chosen interval so you actually get out of bed. It's not broken — it's doing its job.
How do I stop it?
Dismiss stops just the current ring. To stop every remaining alarm on that schedule for the day, press and hold the circle button (Kill Switch) for 15 seconds.
What's the Kill Switch?
It's the hold-to-stop-everything button on the ringing screen. Hold it for 15 seconds and every remaining alarm on that schedule is silenced for the day. It shows up starting on whichever alarm you choose when you set up the schedule (the 5th alarm, by default) and stays available through the last one. You can change which alarm it appears on, or preview it safely, from the alarm's Settings.
How do I skip today without deleting my alarm?
Tap Skip today on the alarm home screen. Changed your mind? Tap Resume Schedule to bring today's rings back.
Can I rename my alarm?
Sure — tap Edit on the alarm and type a new name. Shorter names look best on small screens.
Can I make it really hard to turn off?
1 math task is turned on by default — you'll solve it before the alarm stops. Want more? Turn on additional math tasks when you set up the alarm, perfect for heavy sleepers.
Sounds
Can I use my own song or voice?
Yes! On the sound screen, tap Upload audio to pick a file, or Record voice to record yourself.
Why does only 30 seconds of my sound play?
Custom sounds use the first 30 seconds so alarms stay reliable. That's the limit for now — but 30 seconds on repeat does the trick.
How do I change the volume?
Each alarm has its own volume — open the alarm, tap Settings, and adjust it there. New alarms start at 80% and remember the settings from the last alarm you made.
Vibration isn't working.
Each alarm has its own vibration switch — open the alarm, tap Settings, and check that Vibration is on. Heads up: vibration feels different on every phone, so we suggest leaning on sound to wake you.
Reminders
How do I set a reminder?
Tap +, choose Reminder, type your message, pick a time, and Save. You can set it as "Remind me in" (a set number of minutes from now), "Date & time" (one specific moment), or "Recurring" (repeating days).
Can I set a reminder for a time that already passed?
Nope — the app can't save a time that's already gone by. Just pick a time that's still coming up.
Will a reminder ring if my phone is on silent?
No — reminders follow your phone's Ring/Silent switch, the same as a text message. If your ringer's on, you'll hear it; if your phone's on silent, it'll vibrate instead.
Sleep sounds
What are sleep sounds?
Calming sounds like rain, ocean, and white noise to help you fall asleep. Tap + → Sleep Sounds. They won't wake you up — they're not alarms.
Will they turn off on their own?
Turn on the sleep timer and pick 15m, 30m, 1h, or a custom time. The sound gently fades out and stops on its own.
Backup & new phones
What happens to my alarms if I delete the app or get a new phone?
Your alarms, reminders, and settings live on your phone, and they're also automatically backed up to your own private iCloud account — no setup needed. Delete and reinstall 100Alarms, or install it on a new phone signed into the same iCloud account, and they come back on their own.
One thing that doesn't come back: any custom sound files you uploaded or voice recordings you made. Keep a copy of anything you'd be upset to lose.
If something's not working
My alarm didn't go off!
Usually a quick fix. Don't force-quit the app — leave it running in the background. Also make sure notifications are allowed, and that your phone and the app are both up to date.
What does Restore Purchase do?
Tap Restore Purchase to bring back anything you've already bought on this Apple ID — handy after reinstalling the app or switching to a new phone.
